At The Anne Brower School, communication with our families is key to ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for both you and your child. To enhance our connection with you, we utilize Remind, an efficient messaging platform for timely and important communications.

What is Remind?

  • Remind is a versatile messaging platform designed for educational settings, facilitating quick and easy communication between educators, parents, and students.
  • It allows us to send instant messages directly to your device, ensuring you’re always in the loop with your child’s school life.

How We Use Remind:

  • Emergency Updates: Be the first to know about emergency school closings, weather delays, and other urgent updates.
  • Event Reminders: Stay informed about upcoming field trips, special events, and holiday school closings.
  • Classroom Notices: Receive regular updates and information directly from your child’s teacher, keeping you engaged with their classroom activities.

Enrollment Process:

  • Automatic Enrollment: You will be automatically enrolled in Remind using the cell phone number provided on your child’s application. This means you'll start receiving alerts without any need for manual setup.
  • Privacy Assurance: Your contact information remains confidential on Remind. Other users, including other parents, will not have access to your personal details.

Receiving Messages:

  • Default to Text Alerts: You will initially receive messages as text alerts on your cell phone, ensuring you get the information quickly and conveniently.
  • Customizable Preferences: If email is more your style, you can easily switch your preferences in the Settings tab of Remind.
  • Multiple Alerts for Multiple Children: Families with more than one child at our school will receive separate alerts for each child's class, so you're always precisely informed.

What to Expect:

  • Upon enrollment, expect two initial text alerts confirming your addition to The Anne Brower School and your child’s specific class on Remind. For example, the first alert will confirm your connection to The Anne Brower School, and the second will link you to [Child’s Class Name].

Remind is an integral part of our communication strategy, ensuring you’re always connected and informed about your child’s school life. If you have any questions or need assistance with Remind, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Understanding Remind Etiquette at The Anne Brower School

To make the most of Remind, it’s important to understand the etiquette and intended use of this app:

Purpose and Use:

  • Brief Updates: Remind is designed for sending succinct, quick updates such as reminders about themed days (e.g., “Reminder: Pajama Day tomorrow”).
  • Photo Sharing: We'll share delightful snapshots of whole-group activities, capturing moments of learning and fun. This is a great way for you to see your child’s day at school.
  • Newsletters and Alerts: Expect monthly class newsletters and crucial alerts, like emergency school closings, delivered through Remind for your convenience.

Limits of Use:

  • Not for Detailed Communication: Please note, Remind is not the channel for in-depth discussions about parties, events, or specific child-related concerns.
  • Educator-Parent Communication: If you need to discuss something detailed or personal regarding your child, we encourage you to contact educators through more direct means.

Timing of Alerts:

  • Respecting Time: Alerts will be sent between 8am and 7pm to respect family time. We avoid sending messages during school hours or on weekends, except in necessary cases like snow days or urgent reminders.

Adding Family Members or Caretakers:

  • Inclusion of Family and Caretakers: If you would like additional family members or caretakers to receive Remind alerts, simply email Lisa Marie at [email protected] with their names and cell phone numbers. We’ll ensure they are added promptly.
